Edna Walls Has not missed Sunday School Class for 9 years

Jim and Shirley Jones, long time members of the Barnabas Department, have moved to Louisiana, to be with their children.

Martha Willis presented them with a large stirring spoon to remember the class.

A couple of weeks ago about 50 ladies in the Sunday School department went to Waco to see some of the sites.  They went to a Mennonite wood working shop where they saw a rocking chair for sale in the amount of $4,200.

They also went to the Chip and Joanna Gaines location called Magnolia. They have the program on tv through the HGTV site. They restore homes. They had acquired some large storage sites, which are shown in the photos.

They had a good time and had the oportunity to visit.

Ron and Martha honored for their selfless devotion to the department

This is the love gift that we have given Ron & Martha

This morning in Barnabas, Edna Walls was recognized for eight (8) years of perfect attendance in our department.  Folks, this represents 416 Sundays in a row that she has been present in SS without missing.

Her record is remarkable.  We would be hard pressed to find someone with a more faithful attendance.  Strange as it may sound, Edna is the first member I look for when I enter our SS room and for the past 416 Sundays there she has been, sitting there quietly with a smile on her face, ready to start the SS hour.  What an example she sets for all of us.  Edna was presented with a huge bouquet of red roses in appreciation for her faithfulness.

Urban Impact is a ministry in the NYC area reaching out to the predominately Muslim people.  We went as a team of 8 to teach ESL and computers to the people attending at the South Asian Center & West African Center as well as limited training at "the beach house".  They have several other centers now run by various churches.  We taught ESL so the volunteers could take some time off.  Then we taught the volunteers.  As a result, we grew to love the ministry and the people involved.
